Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

Wow, I can't believe that it has almost been a week since Turkey Day!! Since we were out, I didn't have a chance to post until now, but I couldn't let the time get away without saying how much I love Thanksgiving!!  It is my absolute favorite holiday in the world!  Thanksgiving is about family and spending time together and being thankful for everything that God has blessed us with -- there is no gift giving, there are no pretenses...just being together and being aware of how blessed we are. Now...while I have typically in my life enjoyed the traditional turkey dinner at someone's house or my own, the past three years this special time has been spent rather untraditionally. And surprisingly, I have loved every minute of it! Here is the run down of the last 3 years: 2006 - Big Bend National Park: Where Jeremy proposed to me at the top of The Window trail overlooking the park on Thanksgiving Day!! Sigh..it was awesome! big-bend-11-06-030.jpgbig-bend-11-06-031.jpg 2007 - [Can't remember the exact name] Ranch - ha ha!: We got to stay in a nice little bungalo on bunk beds and eat a big meal in the lodge in addition to riding horses all weekend long! (BTW - I LOVE the little goats in the video!! They make me smile.) 2008 - Fairfield Lake State Park: Camping on the water, fishing out on the boat, one with nature, time with family and friends, and I even had all the Turkey Day fixings for us with a chicken and ham roasted in crockpots and I pre-made all the sides that could just be warmed up in pans...it was a great weekend! More pics on Flickr if you have an account -- let me know if you can't see them and we can try to get you hooked up. :)

Looks like a really good time! I love that your Thanksgivings have been fairly nontraditional the past couple of years! Maybe we can convince our families to do nontraditional as well, some day!

On a side note, is your hair darker in that picture of you cooking?

K — thanks…I was having a mental problem!

E — Nontraditional has definitely been a fun change! I highly recommend trying it sometime. As for the hair…yes, it looks darker, b/c I had showered and just pulled it back wet…it always looks darker when it is wet. No hair dying has gone on or anything like that! :)

Is J proposing in that pic and you don’t know it yet? Also… are you back to using regular shampoo now? I’m still waiting on the upholstery transformation hint hint! haha.

R — nope…he was talking to me…basically stalling, and the whole time I was like - “ok, I think I have seen enough, are you ready?” He kept saying “Let’s just sit here for a minute.” I thought he was crazy so I indulged and it paid off!! ha ha!

Also, I am working on a post to address your shampoo question and more…

And I will be getting to finishing the upholstery project soon…I made J promise to help me so that it might be less intimidating! :)
